Fahan is usually a fair bet for rays although I would leave it until the end of April start of June. Just cast into the channel and relax. Can be a fair throw dependent on where you go in the beach. A good starting point is at the bend of the beach as you look along it. There is a shipping bouy that marks the edge of the channel, and you don't have to cast that far also.

Keep an eye on the boat section, when they say they are catching rays in numbers out of or close to Fahan then that's when I go.

You'll pick them all year round Ronald but for numbers I'd leave it for a while yet. Talked to lads who trawl the lough regularly and they say that its not worth towing up to June, then again they are looking at numbers to make it worth their while.
