Managed a pollack from donagadee pier tonight ,probabley my smallest fish of the night also got a nice codling of 1 lb 8oz but i see the points are gone for them :cry:

Pretty sure this is a shore rockling, it had 3 whiskers

took squid and mack, at glenarm beach sorry about poor quality of photo couldnt get the camera to focus

Conger, Codling, Coalfish, Shore Rockling, Dab, Flounder, Dogfish, 3 beard rocking, Pollack, Whiting, Pouting, Red cod, Poor Cod, Tadpole fish, Short and Long splined sea sculpin, TopKnot, Cukcoo Ray,

Targets: fish over 10lb, eel over 20lb (came VERY close almost :( )

could it Possibly be a five bearded ,looks the right colour ,did you pick it over cleanish ground ?

aye it was off glenarm beach

pebbles and sand close in clean at distance

my 34cm flounder at benone caught on rag,maddies and tipped with makeral!! :D

Can you check that a species you post will still score points
Also that images are not too big. I have already had to edit a few images.

oops i thought my fish counted i havent worked out why my photos are 2 big for the screen :!:

the 2 extra on the snout can be hard to spot if they're not erect .

im going to go with 5 beard then, just looked at the spiecies guide it says shore has 2 on the lower jaw one on the snout, this deffo only had 1 on the lower and its not a 3 beard :D

Rockling(all species) only have 1 barbel on the chin.The shore rockling and three bearded have 1 below each nostril,(total barbels 3).The five bearded has 1 below each nostril and another 2 closer to the top lip,(total barbels 5).The four bearded has 1 beside each nostril and 1 more close to the top lip directly above the chin barble.(total barbels 4).And just for the record the Tadpole fish has 1 small barbel on its chin as with most of the cod family.

Heres a surprise strap I took tonight on Garretstown Strand on a whole sandeel at distance. 1 of 22 or so fish, 20 Coalies and a flounder along with the eel made for a busy night!
