Some advice please

#1 Post by Seancelt »

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be getting an AA Estuary rod but I need help pairing a FS reel.
It will be used for light surf, spinning and floating. Will one reel be able to do all this?
I can spend about 60 Euros.
Thanks in advance.

Trying to think of a fixed spool that'll cover all of that. Have picked up one or two Shimano 6000 baitrunners around this price from ebay - think they would be a good comprimise.

That's about as small a reel as you will get away with for light surf work but anything bigger would be v cumbersome for spinning... tough to get 1 all rounder!

I was afraid of that. Well I have a 6500 reel that will do for the light surf, its not great but will do for now.
Any recommendations for the spinning/floating. Preferably with at least two spools. Same money.

Just to say thank you Liamo, Jonny and Phil. I really appreciate your suggestions and I'm checking out all the reels you recommended.
