ive heard that before and ive had conger on them before off the boat.its just the fact that i had a good run when using them as live bait the other nite and it was from a mark which is near another mark where we get good numbers of huss and the odd conger

Small fish ie undersized fish are illegal to retain
As far as I am aware, after trawling through a lot of legal stuff yesterday looking for info on Live baiting, in the Republic there is no laws whatsoever governing Sea Angling save the Bass legislation. I stand corrected on this but it would appear to me that south of the border you can do absolutely whatever the hell you like. There are size limits and bag limits for coarse fish alright but nobody seems to give a damn about the sea and protecting its juvenile fish. Not of course that I'm in anyway having a blast in relation to someone using these fish as Bait. More to do with the lads, and we know who they are, that fill a bucket with tiddlers to feed the 5000.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial

Was fishing fenit for ray a couple of years ago with a mate (Rampant Wreckfish) getting plagued by small whiting etc so he stuck one on and caught a 30lb+ Stinger
it makes sense, if the water is full of small whiting then what are the fish going to be eating, i remember some one telling me that they were fishing a boat compo and the water was full of white bait "tiny fish" everyone stuggled to catch fish because all the fish were eating the white bait. banana's isnt it

I read tip a few years back concerning this subject. The Idea was if your getting pestered with small whiting tie a small size 2 hook on to the bottom of a 3/0 or 4/0. bait the small hook then when you catch the inevitable tiddler leave it on as bait for the larger fish like cod and such that tend to be feeding on these smaller fish.
Sinking Fast.
