hook the live ones by the tail to sets of hokkais, deadly for haddock i found on a trip where a guy had a bucket of them - but thats the boat....
for shore id say best to float fish them for wrasse etc

We have solid success along the wall of Courtmac pier for bass using a ball lead and just bouncing them along the wall with the tide.

Used live, they are good for ray in the summer and the odd bass in donegal!
