rod G1

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

i have got the sport version nice rod but like a poker needs an 8 oz lead to get a bend in it, good rock/ conger rod it will never be out gunned, if looking for a rock rod it is a1 , but if its for general beach fishing go for the match version not the sport

if it cant get its jaws round a 1/0 its not worth catching [ mullet excluded ]

would not say the g1 is a poker, far from it , it is for general fishing
4-6oz , it certainly is not for the really rough stuff, ,it is 12ft 6 in
lenghth has a nice parobilic casting action, like most of the century-
rods, you can bend them, this model was updated with the g5 supa-
sport, again a user freindly rod, the original G1 is capable of casting
really good distances, if you need to.
all the best stevo.

what version are you talking about steveo it sounds like the match version of the G1 as it is a far more user friendly rod than the sport ,if its the sport, look out danny moeskop steveo is coming
on the blank of the SPORT there is no mention of 4-6 oz casting weight as you said ,it is rated as 150gms PLUS i dont give advice on tackle that i do not own and use reguraly as you would end up looking silly
if it cant get its jaws round a 1/0 its not worth catching [ mullet excluded ]

like youre-self, i have owned a GI SPORT, in coparrison to other top
casting rods the g1 would be considered dreadfully under-gunned,
compared to say a zziplex xtr sport, and the other top named casting
rods, ttrs etc, etc, the GI and the newer G5 supa sport ,are aimed at
the standard beach-fishing situations, clean to medium rough ground.
it also costs alot less, than its more favoured counterparts, from the
century range.
