I use a Daiwa tdxs 129pm which is cheaper than that rod and a greys Bze 12' 6" 3-5oz for the light stuff. both wonderful rods and cheaper than those two. A friend of mine has caught huss up to 9lb on the Bze and it handled it no probs   :D 8) .

i got the daiwa from gerrys and the greys from glasgow angling center although i would reccomend gerrys for both.

i dont really like rods over 9 feet for spinning, if you intend doing a lot of that a 9 foot rod will be a lot easier to use for a long session than a ten foot+ rod would be IMO.

i also use a 9 foot rod for wrasse and pollock fishing too. i got a nice daiwa regal 9 foot lure special a few weeks ago, a nice little rod and cheap too.

For the lighter work I'd recommend the Supercast Bass. I'm with Lumpy on the heavier rod Nemesis Plus SLR. Will cope with the heavy or mixed ground but will still give a bit feel and show bites on the beach. I use mine when fishing rovers with only one rod. If I drop onto a beach or into the river it's got more feel than my heavier rock rods.

For light line fishing I use either a Century SRE or the Zziplex powertex 12'6" bass rod.. Zzippy is very nice for the light stuff but still quite powerful if needed.

Ordinary everyday stuff, either a Zziplex vmax F2 or a Daiwa TDXS 130xm. Great tip but very powerful if needed! Hopefully for double dogs at distance, but can also haul a load of weed without too much trouble.

For the heavy stuff. ZZiplex Dymic lt14 or a Century WR300. Both good rods in their own right.

Hard to pick one as an all rounder but if pushed to only have 1 rod for all then I would be hard pushed to look past the Daiwa 130 xm. A cracker of a rod in my eyes

Ron thompson light beach turbilizer is not bad and u can get it cheap as chips from veals and for the storm beaches ruffer ground greys appolo m2 would do the job and u can't beat the life time gurantee and all the free gear and sure through 50 quid on top ov that get a new reel as well at tonys or gerrys.
