Went to garryvoe sunday 10th. to show my face at the final leg of the juvenile/junior shore. As chairman of m.p.c. you are expected to show up.
The weather was total rubbish with strong winds blowing along the beach.
the anglers were pegged under the caravan park to the far righthand side of the hotel, under the Pink pub, and great island sac fishing infront of the hotel.
After about 30 minutes gone the first fish was hauled ashore a cod close to the 3lb mark. From then on it was a case of I'm an angler get me out of here. With 'Philip O'Sullivan, the juvenile officer, having things under control I made my escape after an hour into the comp. Well! what kind of angler would go to a beach and not bring his gear. Headed down just beyond the pipe well away from both competitions. Before I could get a second rod set up I had a cod close to the 3lb mark and a fine coalfish.
In total I had mor than 10 cod, 6 of them were in the 3-5lb bracket 3 coalfish and 1 bass just under the 8lb mark.
Fished from 16.30-18.45 on a floodig tide
Bait was crab on clipped down pully rigs
On the junivle/junor side of things all anglers landed fish which included cod, coalfish, flounder and 2 painted ray. for the condition the kids fished under the all should have got a gold medel.

Did it bring you back into the log in screen Donal?
Fair play to the kids for getting there asses onto the beach BTW, Cork was not a pleasant polace to be on Sunday. I fished on Sunday and while De Wall was well sheltered I would have hated to have been on a beach. We had to get off Currabinny Pier as the wind was battering us around the place and it was only matter of time before someone had an accident.
