Anybody know if i can pick one up in any of the shops in Dublin? Seems Veals have discontinued them, well online anyway, so wouldn't mind picking one up before xmas. If not in any shops anyone know where I can get one online???

Forgive me if this is daft, I'm not well up on the match fishing scene, but will any measuring tape not do? I use a small plastic tape that rolls up and fits in a pocket ...

For next season I'm getting one of these ...

is there by any chance a folding version of the larger Ian Golds Match measure?

from what i have been told the folding sticks are not as accurate..

(suggestion: put up a poll to see who round up or down when measuring fish in a competition)

i have the 1 metre ones as well in the club, they fit inside the rod holdall no problem so easy enough to carry

where can you get these ones or the smaller ones.

The ian golds fish measure can usually be bought on ebay for around the £5 mark.

You could PM the 'codfather' L&G tackle in Glenoe, Larne, NI. and see if they have any left. That's where I got mine.

OR:

Just go to ebay and under sports/sea fishing, type in Ian Golds, it usually brings them up. If that doesn't work put in fish measure and that should work. They are there fairly frequently so you should have no trouble getting one.

I've just had a look and there are measures available at the moment if you want to try?

OK, we better stop posting on the rounding issue in this thread and start posting here instead:

before we all get done for going OT :D :D

I've asked a mod to move the posts from here if appropriate :)

Split and merged....amazing. Thanks for the heads up Teacher... Took me a while to figure out what to do.

Back to match measures, good point Big Phil about using the rod holdall for the 1metre stick....hadnt thought of that. When I fished the Munster open, on several of my many trips to sign Stephen Brennans card... the fish in question was well over the 45cm and the longer measures would have been a serious help.

So,
Do you have to have one (a match measure) when fishin comps?

Is it part of the requirements?

Plan on attending my first comp next year and dont want to be
the only one without one

Will be embarassing enough without adding to it :? :?

For a few quid mate, just order yourself one and have done with it. Always handy to have in the box for the occasional trophy pic prior to releasing a fish and also for checking the minimum size for bass etc.
