missing fish?

discovered this while heading surfing at east strand Portrush earlier...

fish lying couple of feet free from tackle :shock:

doh! yeah on second thoughts I reckon your right. It is a coalie. Ha! A bass on the north coast... what was I thinking?! :cry:

The rig was layed out just beside the fish but not hooked.

on a side note how was the surf?

hopefully get up for a session over the weekend if conditions play ball :D
species so far 2007 (18....)
Conger, Codling, Coalfish, Shore Rockling, Dab, Flounder, Dogfish, 3 beard rocking, Pollack, Whiting, Pouting, Red cod, Poor Cod, Tadpole fish, Short and Long splined sea sculpin, TopKnot, Cukcoo Ray,

Targets: fish over 10lb, eel over 20lb (came VERY close almost :( )

surf was good. Whiterocks was too mental for me so moved to east strand.
Nearly everyday is producing something usable with the winter swells its just the wind and direction that is spoiling some days. The weekend looks ok but probly the worst days for swell. Start of next week looks terrifying. All depends what you are after. Most of the time its too big for me :shock:
