People:me and handbrake hynes (well thats what we call him)

Duration: 8pm-2:30 am

Tide: high at 12

Weather: very windy force 5 and force 8-9 when finishing

Bait:mackerel squid

Rigs:various

Results: me 6 three bearded rockling and a 3lbs conger, handbrake: 4 three bearded rockling (one weighing in at a kilo) and loads of crabs

Catch and Release:: No... largest rockling kept for the pan, rest went back(including the crabs)

Report: good session.. started of slow.. nige showed up for a while and proceeded to blank, and left early due to long drive in the mornin, as wind picked up rockling were being caught in close.. after the 10th rockling was caught it went quiet for a bit then i pulled in the conger from a distance

...

we lost a few rockling off the line as they weere being lifted up.. but we wont complain

That new float suit seems to have opened up a whole new world Steve...... Fishing in f8 and f9, you're keen

Any size to the rockling?

I used to go out with a Galway girl and we went to Spiddal one sunny day. From what I remember theres a beach with some rocky patches? Well anyway, as we were walking along there was this terrific splash and this huge bass which must have been feeding in the shallow, on sighting us, heeled around and headed out to sea at a serious rate of knots. That was just over 4 years ago I think. Definitely a bass.

the ones i was getting were about 8" - 12" (one was a staggering 4" long

as for fishing in f8 and f9.. I'm well used to it.. just that this time i wasn't cold and didn't get wet

possibly.. but i have seen mullet, sea trout and salmon in the shallows feeding before they head up the river(not the mullet though).. would be nice though to get a few more bass around these parts
