whitehead prom

#1 Post by pookie5488 »

People... Me and wife

Tide... Rising ht 16.30

Weather.. dry and windy

Bait... lazy lug and mac

Fish.. 3 rockling 2 whiting

All returned.

Thought try get a few hours in between the gales hoping the bottom may have turned some bait up and in turn a few fish.
But nothing worth talking off all barely registered a bite.
But nice to get out for a few hours and wanted to try the lazy lug on its own.

lazy lug

#3 Post by pookie5488 »

That was what today was for i have used before but never on its own. So having a few hours free and no fresh bait seemed a good day to try.

I used a 2 hook scratcher rig lazy lug on both hooks and all fell to this used the mac when run out but nothing so i would say it has its place in a tackle box but would still take freash bait over it.

All fish were small but never fished whitehead so not sure if that the normal size for here.

All in all i will always have a tub incase run out as i was supprised how it stays on hook better than fresh and it takes fish too.

Hope that helps

lug

A wee tackle shop in dunmurry village called laganside tackle. Be up that way soon if you want me to get you a pot. Its £4.90.

its also for sale on ebay but postage takes it to near £7 so a bit steap

Also veals selling it but dont know price.

The lazy lug website has info on it worth a read and they say rrp is £4.90.

I got 28 in that pot and were all big enough on average 18-25 says the website. But this my 3rd pot and always have had 25+

I think it was about £5.50 a tub, but I got a few quid off because I was buying a load of other stuff.
