go to this site lads, you can download different versions ( you have to pay for the best versions) its brilliant for checkin out harbour areas,beaches, rocks,cliffs... its so handy for plottin out deep water marks,shallow marks,deep channels,dredges,fall offs, rocky ground, sand bars,banks,spits etc... you can see them and then use the scale function to get an idea of how far you need to cast to hit them from land... you can also marks spots all over ireland where youv fished and you can keep a record of what youv caught and where, you can plan walking routes to hard to reach places.. its a birds eye view.. brilliant bit of technology, im sure many of you no it already but for those who dont its well worth a look

I'm sure most people have used it one time or another by now but if not, definately download it and give it a look http://earth.google.com/ It may run slow on some computers and some places do not have full detail. I'm lucky as my own town is on it in full detail but some surrounding areas are not, great program.

Yes but thats basically just a basic map type thing as apposed to satellite imagery, is it not?

you have a choice of map/ satellite/hybrid (combination of the first two)
