I have two cracked 525 mags I wonder if I sent them back to penn would it cost much to get a new main frame of the reel and my parts put back into the reel frame they must have come from a bad batch the time i bought them.

the 6500 C3 CT mag elite is the one you want a nice wee reel casts like a dream and holds the world record for the longest cast 300+ yards.

if you do mixed ground then the 525 comes in to its own great with 20lb line on tho i tried mine on the beach its OK but 6500 beats it hands down but is not great on rocks :oops:

Funny you should mention the girlfriend as my x back in 2003 was meant to be holding my tripod when a big wind all of a sudden blew in as I was unhooking a dogfish for her she let go of the tripod and the next thing it fell over and cracked 3 rings on a kompressor match and warped a 6500 ct frame :oops:

i have a mag elite and 2 525 super mags and to be honest since ive bought the 525,s i havnt touched another reel at all
