Recently purchased one,my question is can I use the reel straight out of the box or do I have to open up the reel and adjust the brakes?

the bearings are abec 5 and if the reel is running slow you can change the spool ones to these, the two extra magnets go on behind the outside two magnets on the frame which holds the four mags.cheers john

will be ok to use straight from box,but dont over fill the spool with line about 3-4 m from lip of spool will be enough, dont forget shock leader.and keep the mags on full till you get used to it,if it goes to fast you will have to add the other mags to slow it up.cheers john.

Bearings already oiled mate... Give it a lash on full mags and see how you get on. Dont be afraid to give it some welly.... :D
I have a 525 and a supermag and have them set up the same way.....out of the box. Just watch your line level, 1/2cm below the rim of the spool and its bulletproof.
HTH, enjoy.
