Has anybody used the sakuma tapered shock leaders before. How do they compare to other brands.
I have tried the varivas ones before but find that they are far from memory free and like to uncoil off the spool. I think it is something to do with the small square spools they come on, which are not really suitable.
I have also tried the Daiwa ones (orange) . Not mad about the color or performance either.

I have them on two spools at the moment and I'm happy enough with them. No snap-offs so far and the clear seems to be invisible in water. I have had no problem with weed accumulating on the bloodknot I used to attach it either.
Just my opinion but I intend to keep using even though they aren't cheap.

yep, i use the nite crystal in 14lb 0.31 dia, it is brillliant, i tested it out recently attached to the sakuma tapered shocks, there was a pile of weed in the surf, sometimes it felt like pulling in a dead animal or something, but the line never parted once and seemed to have good abrasion resistance for its diameter
a lot of guys using it for casting work and find it excellent, also great value on bulk spools
