downhill fri nite 10/11/06 all nighter

People:alan nelson sam mcdowell q ball

Duration:2130/0530

Tide:goes out then comes back in again

Weather:stiff breeze rain on and off cold

Bait:lug rag squid

Rigs:2 hook clipped and pennel

Results:target bass any none any other fish none

Catch and Release:: Yes/No u need ta catch b4 u can release



Report:3 anglers 6 rods whole squid to a pennel cast to the 3rd breaker and 2 hook clipped with worm baits cast to distance not a touch all nite underwater feature barren desert it's not called downhill for nothing should a went congering all the gear and no idea.

benone/downhill is the biggest load of p**h if you ask me :x :x

maybe casting to far... i suppose????

I'm happy enough with Benone! Hasn't produced anything massive for me but it has a healthy stock of Bass and thats good enough for me! I ain't blanked on it yet either.

thats alright for u my last 2 outings iv blanked better not be a3rd or all my team redwolf gear is going in the tide

hey nelson....if you are lookin bass just stay up at benone there is always more bass activity up there or try castlerock at the mouth of the bann last time i fished it (castlerock at the mouth of the bann) i had 5 eels (silver) and 6 small flounder all on rag and lug and i know there is bass there too...or even try the rocks at castlerock on the right had side with sandeels or rag on a 3 hook flapper dropped at your feet and not the 3rd breaker

hey guys dont be so disheartened,keep at it and they will come,its now time for the bigguns so dont give up you might just hook that fish of a lifetime,ive had bass up there all year..... :lol:

arite nelson, have you been getting any good conger lately? have tryed a few times down the harbour but nothing big yet.

know exactly how you feel
Fished benone, downhill, castlerock and portstewart countless times this year and sweet f a so far.
Altho been a month now since I been out.. maybe I'll try again soon :roll:

guys , it must be a case of getting the tides right, a few mates have done ok up on all the beaches this year
