Fishing in Shannon Estuary..Advice needed.

#1 Post by johnhig »

New to the site, nice site by the way. I've been fishing for a while mostly on the East coast, Wexford area..Heading west to see what's out there in the next few weeks.
Looking for some advice on places to fish in Clare and Kerry..Shannon estuary...Have done my homework on all around the area ie all the guides etc...just wondering if anyone has any new reports tips etc...

Also have a fridge in the van but no freezer (at the moment) so bringing frozen bait and trying to keep it frozen is a bit of a pain over a 3 day trip...What bait/tackle shops are around Killimer, Tarbert, Foynes,Kilrush etc that sell good bait...

Thanks

Hi John,

Pretty much all the shops are on the cfb web site except the one in kilkee. Theres also a chinese supermarket up from henry street in limerick if you want to buy cheap squid. If you have the time your better off getting fresh mackerel off Dunlickey or kerry head though access is a bit rough at kerry head.

I can't say I've had much success in the last while and I don't recommend marks any more as people then complain when they don't catch but I have fished a fair amount on both sides so just mention any from this list I can give you some basic advise:
