Snood Line Colours

Do you think the colour makes a difference.

I recently bought red amnesia and have better results than the clear amnesia

I always use Clear.... Force of habit. :lol:

different colours for different applications, i normally only use red at night for certain species, force of habit yet again tho

for some species on the boat i had great success with yellow snoods, and for others black....but then again, those were just the colours i was using at the time and caught so i used them again

I seen some where in an issue of sea angler where one of the editors uses red amnesia when he fishes beaches in Ireland dont know why but he always uses it has anyone any idea why red snoods work maybe the red color is like blood streaming in the surf :!:

Red is the first colour to disappear underwater. :wink:

usually found clear, black or fluoro best. have had bad results using yellow and red alongside a clear snood rig which clearly outfished the coloured snoods. i tested them in clear water. i don't think it matters too much in coloured seas. sofness/ limpness of line could possible be more important in relation to bait movement. as said before on site heavier lines can flag in the tide and could possibly present the bait more favourably to fish. east coast boat anglers swear by red snoods and beads for dogfish. i have caught flounder on red snoods but not enough to say it works well for them. heard yellow can be good for dab. would use red after dark for convenience. caught plenty of wrasse and cod on red snoods over rough ground.

in sayin all that some people swear by coloured snoods. i wouldn't rule them out but i am not convinced. others say seafish don't get caught repeatedly like coarse fish and so it dosen't matter what colour snood you use. try fishing for roach in an unfished lake with red 20lb amnesia snoods and see how you get on!! :lol:

It amazing the different view and tactics employed in beach fishing and people think you just put the line in the water and fish up on.

red or black dont know why just have always used black when fly fishing and it dont spook them so just carried it over to my sea angling.

i found in freshwater that line diameter was often more important than colour- it affects the fall of the bait through the water. hard to know how valid that would be in the sea but for a few instances.
