tilly...now headlamp?
I'm looking to buy a new lamp for the approaching dark evenings. Having never bought one before I'm not sure what to look for, a search did manage to throw up a few ideas though.
I'm looking for a cheap enough one as I will be only using it about twice a month, any suggestions?
Sorry, I know similar questions have been asked before

I have recently invested in a Thunderbolt Rechargeable Lamp (9 hours from a full charge).
It is very good but it was expensive. I expect to get many years use out of it.
You can buy cheaper ones in B&Q, Argos and most camping stores but you need to refuel regularly and there is always the threat of a wee accident with the gas
It is really down to how much you want to spend and how much use you will get out of it.

Argos have one that may do you too croppyboy

Quality not a major factor for me as won't be used that much, any comments on this one?

Thaks for those other suggestions guys.
Pookie, the lamp sounds the biz but there pretty expensive, so I'd imagine you'd want/be able to get more money then I could offer.
Zensor, cheers for that, must try and have a look at it
KK, had a look at the ebay ones, these colemans are battery operated, just wondering if anybody has one and if so how do you find it?
Thanks again all, plenty of choice there.

goodheadlamp is the way to go i believe, i never use my colemans etc anymore at all. except whilst camping. i find that on a lot of venues the light from the lamps/or even headlamps puts the fish off and spooks them in close, so best to stick to a small led headlight for baiting up and watching the rof tips etc, or else fit your lamp with a light deflector that will block the light from going out one side of the lamp ie not to the seaward side
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

Ok, so now it seems, following more advice here that a headlamp seems a better option. Thinking about it it would be handier for me also, as if I am cycling somewhere its easier to store than a lantern. Thanks for all the help allready lads, and sorry to be changing my mind  :?
Now, can anybody suggest a headlamp  , thinking that ebay is the way to go....? THe same price restrictions would apply though, can only spend about 35 euro. Thanks for any info,
