Results:3 Gilthead, 2 Bass, Coalies

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:
Another fab session on one of my favourite venues, 3 gilthead, best 2 1/2lb others app 1 1/2lb, bass 4lbapp and 2 1/2lb. Lost count of the number of coalies in the last hour, doubles & trebles every chuck.

its a bream, ask cortaz he's a pretty knowlegable about dem
shore species 2008(25):dogfish(3.1lbs), bull huss (12lb 2oz), bass, shore rockling, coalie, whiting, pollack, conger (22.4lbs),flounder, thick lipped mullet (4.8lbs),turbot,ling (11.2lbs),ballan wrasse(4.5lbs), cuckoo wrasse, pouting, poor cod, cod (9.5lbs), dab, 3 bearded rockling, long spined scorpion fish, corkwing wrasse, plaice, trigger fish, sea trout, garfish

ah another species i'm not likely to ever catch!! is there any reason why bream r only caught down south??

Gilthead

Yes Rab looks like a trip down is required!
The gilthead is a recent addition down here (last 4/5 years). I would imagine that the Gulf Stream & global warming would be why they're around the South and not North. They are really starting to show up in numbers around they south coast. Not sure what "season", if any, they may hang around all year. The best fish at present are close to 4lb (French Record is +16lb!). The fight is unreal!

what bait did you get the bream on? lugs?

Two on lug tipped with mackerel other on crab.
