I've caught loads of them this year down at the walter rock and a few off the pier,90% of them where taken on Sandeel though.Try a full Sandeel off the RHS of the pier about 30yrds out it should give some results.Let me know how you get on anyway Mackers.

went down to portaferry last night ( saturday ) to see what was about.fishes from approx 8pm til approx 10:30pm.
the only thing caught was coalies of about 1lb or so and one larger one about 2lb-2 1/2 lb.
as far as bait goes we tried mackerel, mussels and squid.....i think that the fish would have tried to eat the empty hooks.....i have started to use a slightly bigger hook in portaferry and find i get alot less hassle from the thousards of tiddlers.....
all in all a good nights fishing as it wasn't cold but there was a slight breeze and thankfully NO rain for a change.... 8)
