Meet n' fish - Spanish Point Co. Clare - Friday 3rd November

#1 Post by Sean365 »

A few of us are planning on fishing Spanish Point beach on Friday evening next, the 3rd of November.
Hope to get started at around 20:15 with LW at 21:15.

Hopefully it will be a good session if a bass or two show. If not a few good size flounder should keep us entertained.

Clear sky's with a southerly breeze forecast.
Anybody interested post here.

I'll be there. What part of the beach should we meet up. At the hotel near the river or the main car park and fish beside the black rock?

Whos bringing the camera?

I am not too bothered which end we fish. I do remember Neilus pulling in a 6lb bass near the river last year. He was returned too so he must be 8lb's by now

Should we plan to meet in the carpark of the Bellbridge Hotel at 20:15?

I haven't a clue about the beach so unless someone says otherwise the hotel it is. If your going it might be worth pming a number onto one of us in case there is a change of plans.

Theres a just a 3.5 foot swell forecast but it has a 10 second period so there should be a moderate surf. By the forecast there might be a bit of cloud that should mean its a milder night. After two blanks in a row firing out 4/0 hooks in the hope of bass I'll be happy with any kind of fish.

Good to hear ye are travelling down lads.

Can I suggest one slight change of plan.... just to confuse everyone.

Can we meet up in the main car park at Spanish Point instead of the Bellbridge and fish to the left of the rocks on the main part of the beach.
This will give us a bit more room as it can get quite tight by the river when the tide comes in and it can also get quite snaggy.

We have 5 people who are definately travelling and 2 more possible.

So, unless anyone has any objections, its 20:15 in the main carpark at Spanish Point tonight.

That sounds fine to me. Theres a 2 foot surf in lahinch at the moment but it looks like it'll be cold.
