People:me

Duration:13.30-16.00

Tide:high at 15.30 but weak

Weather:overcast with gentle NW breeze increasing during day

Bait:frozen sandeel and lures

Rigs:trolling

Results:dozen pollock and 4 mack

Catch and Release:: always except for bait

Report:Had a couple of hours to kill this afternoon, so headed down to the rocks between Ballyhornan and Ardglass. Deep trolled sandeel accounted for all pollock and 3 mack. Pollock of a good standard from 2lb to the best at just shy of 5 lb, photo attached. Surprised to see so many mack still about. After I ran out of of sandeel i put on a 6" blue bass bullet to see if any of the bigger pollock were interested. Caught the last mack using this on may last cast. Amazing the size of lure they will take.

Sorry forgot to answer the rest. Had a dozen fish about this size this year. Most are in the 2-3 lb bracket but plenty of 4-5lb fish. Haven't managed to break through 5 lb yet from this mark but I am sure they are there.
