Keeping Sandeels Alive

#1 Post by Bassy »

Having busted my ***** digging sandeels I was surprised at how quickly they died. Any ideas about how to prolong their life (I was using a bucket and aerator)?

they should stay alive fine with an aerator but if they dont you might have to put another aerator in the bucket

You could also try get spare water with out fish and use in for small water changes.

as far as i know some of those aerators are useless. met some guy fishing with one of those he said some of them just don't work.

also

I'm just thinking. the air tube should be as low in the water as possible to give the most out of the air coming through and lots of small bubbles are better than a few big bubbles (more surface area)

I have keeped sandeels alive for about 6-8 hrs , put 2 or 3 ice blocks in cooler box then some wet newpaper , this semi chills them .
