Large batch of fishing gear for sale....proceeds to RNLI.

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Large batch of fishing gear for sale....proceeds to RNLI.

#1 Post by petekd »

After discovering that my latest acquisitions have to live in my jeep as there is no room for them in the house, I had a good sort out and root around to see what I could offload. I put together a batch of stuff that I know for a fact I will never use again, stuff I kind of cut my teeth in the sea angling world with. There is nothing overly exciting in this batch, majority of it is cheap and cheerful stuff but it is all usable and in working order and may suit someone with a family or a club with youngsters or whatever.

Basically, if you want it, make an offer via PM. The highest offer received by 12.00 pm Wednesday gets the gear. Each day I will put post what the total is at so far. On top of that I will donate 100% of the total to the RNLI, this will be sent to Kieran to hand over to keep all above board.
(Mods/Kieran, I said 50% in PMs, changed my mind, they can have the lot)

Its a bulky batch so posting is not an option, it will have to either be collected, or being as I travel north virtually every second weekend or so we could arrange to meet somewhere between here and Donegal.

As the whole point of this exercise is to clear a bit of space for myself, I do not want to start splitting the batch, its all or nothing lads.

The list of items are as follows.....

Rods

1 Daiwa Sensor SEZ 12' M 4-8oz
1 Fladen Powerstick 12' 100-250g
2 Silstar telescopic rods, 1 11' 30-60g, 1 12' 40-80g
1 Kilty Lure Beach Royal 13' FS 100-200g
1 Daiwa Longbeam 13' M 4-8oz (top 2 inches missing due to car door incident, a new tip ring will sort this.)
1 Emerald spinning rod 2.7m 40-60g
1 Emerald spinning rod 3.0m 40-60g
1 Red Wolf Boat rod 7' 15-30lb Class

Reels

1 Okuma Exide rear Drag FS spinning reel
1 Shakespeare Pro AM rear drag FS Spinning Reel
1 Okuma Magic 280 Surf casting FS reel
1 Okuma Acuador Surf Casting FS Reel (used once only)
1 Penn Long Beach Boat Multiplier reel.

1 bag to keep rods in, 1 box for the reels.

All items haved been used to various degrees, majority of rods are in their original rod bags.

Remember lads, its for charity..... :D

I Forgot... 1 Abu Garcia Enticer 12' Beachcaster 3-6 oz also.

OFFERS VIA PM ONLY, ALL OTHERS WILL BE DISREGARDED

Bids to be sent via PM only please, Childey, if thats a real bid, send it via PM please. Also, if you could edit your post if it isnt and remove the figure as it could deter people from having a pop themselves. Cheers!

The majority of the tackle listed is from the cheaper end of the market, thats all that statement means. IE There are no Conoflexs/Centurys or 525 mags lurking in there..... :D Its all the gear myself and the missus cut our teeth with several years ago when we were learning the ropes. Nothing wrong with any of it but you outgrow these things after a while, numerous new toys etc.... :D

Congrats Chidley, your offer was the highest at £245 stg. Fair play that man. :D I am going to send you a PM with my contact details on it to arrange transfer etc. Many thanks to all who expressed an interest by the way. I wasnt expecting it to make quite as much as that but I'm sure the lifeboat boys arent complaining. Thanks again.
