Would it be possible to set up a buy and sell section? i think this would be a great idea becasuse people only starting angling would be able to get there hads on good gear and help promote the sport. it would also allow me to pass on some of the gear i dont use any more to some one who may benefit from it and help them catch the fish of a life time.
comments to my suggestion please!!!

mods/admin legal issues must be fairly easy to sort out.
i can put you in touch with people that run a couple of very large car enthuiast web sites with very sucessful buy and sell sections. if you would like to know how they deal with the legalities and liabilites?
its all the forum is missing everything else is spot on :D

Actually, it's not easy to sort out at all. Ever tried being 'slightly involved' with a police investigation? Take a look at the length of eBay's disclaimer and imagine that their legal team is probably bigger than this site's membership.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/u ... ement.html
However, this site is run on a not-for-profit basis so we simply can't afford a legal team on retainer to mount a defence because somebody isn't happy with a deal and decides to sue everyone they can. We simply cannot afford to be even taken to court, much less lose.
Ass that it undoubtedly is, the law does not allow us to simply post a total disclaimer which would keep us clear of the courts if the worst came to the worst. (Which, BTW, in the fullness of time, would surely happen).
We are looking into ways to do this if possible, and all suggestions welcome.
A lot of people would like to see some sort of buy and sell thing, and the mods/admins are aware of it - I suspect we'd all like to see it happen as well. No promises, but it is being looked at seriously.
