Whitehead Prom and Lighthouse
People: Me & My girlfriend
Duration: 8 hours
Tide: Flood
Weather: Raining very heavy then dried out
Bait: Rag, Mack, Squid
Rigs: Pulley, Clipped Down, Pennel
Results: Couple of nice pollack, Rockling, Wrasse,
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:
I had intended to fish the cushendun beach with big liam and merv but the rain was crazy and took a decision to stay closer to home in case it stayed all day. I also stayed closer because of an illness in the family.
[Saturday]
Got to whitehead around 9:30am and headed for the prom just out the old persons nursing home. I missed a couple of real thumps and it was to late and what ever was on headed for the kelp. I lost a couple of rigs before putting on a rotten bottom. Again a couple of more thumps, lifted the rod and managed to pull in a 2 1/2lb pollack. real beauty.
I persuaded my girlfriend to come along and she caught her first pollack
[Sunday]
I headed to the lighthouse to use the rest of my rag and mackerel. I caught a nice couple of rockling and wrasse but i also lost quite alot of rigs
all in all a great weekend fishing.

No i fished it during the day time. In saying that there really wasnt much happening around 2pm. It looks like it could really throw up some crackers. I ground bait it well before hand though.
Some big mullet were in very close. The only reason i say they were mullet is because they were in pack of 2 or 3.
