I fished Dunree yesterday from 11.00 to 5.00pm, fished the clean, fished the rough, fished short, fished long, fished from top of cliff and fished VERY long (emptied spool on 525...!) results....nothing! Bait was an issue, all i had were frozen sandeels and squid but even so....nothing!

It was indeed Shamrock. I havent actually fished it this year so made a big effort to get out there. I stayed in Saturday night and everything...! On saying that, got into enough bother on Friday night to last me a while but thats another story....!

I endured that horrible hike to the mark with all my gear to blank. Not happy. I had a few doggie pulls from time to time with no hook ups, but it was a ray I was really hoping for, no joy there. Did try small baits in search of flatties but none of them either. Very strange. That mark has always produced a range of stuff for me in the past.

Mackerel has worked very well for me in the past there but the stuff I had bought was worse than useless, soft, pulpy, watery, crap....unusable. It was strange , even spinning a sandeel didnt produce a pollack or a coalie. Very odd. Peach of a day too aside from the odd shower.
