Bass Fishing Techniques

#1 Post by JimH »

Hi all

In September of this year i will be running a one week 'school' for 12 anglers from Denmark. This is in conjunction with a fisheries biologist from Jutland and some people from the various bodies within Ireland. The week long vacation will deal specifically with techniques for catching sea bass, sea trout and mullet. Covering conservation, biology, lifecycles, history, methods like fly, lure, bait, timings, casting, equipment, tides and so on in a very relaxed atmosphere.

Can i ask if any of you feel that there would be a market for a similar 'learning holiday' that Irish Anglers would like to partake of?

Thanks
Jim

Definitely think so Jim, especially for bass. Peter O'Reilly runs very successful flyfishing courses in freshwater at Delphi, Andrew Ryan has a very good setup with lots of customers at Clonanav, I don't see why there wouldn't be a market for similar courses with accommodation in sea fishing. Probably the Irish market would be better suited to shorter courses - 1/2/3 days, with maybe foreign anglers prepared to do a week.
Its all in the marketing.... people are prepared to pay good money if the product is right.
Let us know when you will be doing courses - might be interested myself!
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
