There are a few ways but the easiest way -

You will need -

- 1 snap swivel link
- 1 fast link
- 1 barrel or rolling swivel
- snood length 2 - 3 feet
- hook (beads and sequins if you feel up for some bling!!)

- attach the snap swivel to your leader (above the fast link) - NOT THE SNAP END - YOU NEED THIS LATER
- Tie a 2 - 3 foot snood to a barrel swivel
- Tie a hook to the end of the swivel
- Attach the snood to your leader via a fast link and swivel
- attach your desired weight to the snap swivel

The weight should now be able to slide up and down your leader and if a fish takes the bait, he will not feel the weight and therefore be less wary of the bait.

Good luck.

If you're using light weights (1-2oz at most) these swivel beads are handy:

Run your main line through the bead and another plain bead, then tie on a swivel, a length of snood and your hook(s). Clip your small weight onto the link and you're finished. This is a nice simple setup for kerb crawling for bass along the beach on a calm night.
