adding weight with lures
is it a good idea to add weights when lure fishing, as some off the lures arnt heavy enough to give much distance, i know it must alter the way it retrieves, and i know you can get weighted shads but wat are the best lures with that bit of weight for bass, or am i wrong in thinking that you dont need that extra distance to catch them

i often stick a weight up the line to get a lure out further - works no problem for pollack - also gets you into the kelp for longer at that lower level if your high above your mark - to draw them out
probably depends on the ground and the action your looking for with the bass lures

you can get them on http://www.sharnbrooktackle.com/acatalo ... ts_46.html
they range from 30gr - 1000gr and are used Primarily for trolling but the light ones are fecking brilliant for getting out a good bit when spinning.
line then the lead then about 1-2ft of line then your lure
