The weekend of the 11th and 12th of November has nice small tides with LW in the afternoon that would be perfect for a session at De Wall and a crack at some decent cod.... :D Fishing at the Wall has already begun with plenty of codling showing in the 2-3lb bracket recently. It should be well and truly on song come mid November.

Any takers....??

i'm on nights the 11th and 12th of Nov. :cry: but i'm sure i'd manage a couple of hours in the afternoon :D curiosity as to meeting a couple of lads from the site would get the better of me :? so as of now i'm up for it :) ....if a couple of legends turn up i might get some tips. :wink:

My buddy just sent me the link for this post and I'd say we will definately be headed down. Havn't been down to the wall since March and looking forward to a good session.

I won't know my schedule until the week before
but will do my best.

I had better get some halfway decent kit, the gear
I have now will not be up to it.

Schedule and kit aside, it would be good to put
faces to avatars.

I'm in favour of all of the above. Except mightn't it be a bit on the cool
side for the strippers. :shock:

the all ireland open shore competition (jimmy smith) is on saturday the 11th november on garryvoe beach, all ifsa members can enter this, i will be going to this competition and if things work out and i can get down early on the friday i might be able to get to monkstown for a few chucks then...saturday will be out for me due to the comp, and will be travelling home again on the sunday so it will be out.

Yes, it might be a bit cool for strippers but you can always wear a fleece and gloves :lol:

Who cares if its a bit chilly for the strippers its always better when tits a bit nippely anyhow :)

What sort of baits would you recommend for the Cod??

Have always just used mackeral and squid and has produced only tidlers.

i mighn't b able to make it for the nov 11th wknd as i might have to go to dublin for the father in-laws 50th birthday, but is a great reaso for a conger bash in dublin. so the trip won't be a total drag

Hey Pete, was reading your report on your last session in Monkstown, sounded incredible dude. You always catching them on baits, just wondering would there be any point in throwing out a few plugs or the likes?

Another question I have for ya is where the hell do you get the pealer crab. Myself and Dan have always wanted to try this but can't seem to get it anywhere. Hopefully as well if we meet you the next time you might show us how you are baiting it up etc.

Fly from (George Best) Belfast City - £40 return with Aer Arran we payed at the end of last season for the Cork - Derry City match. 45 minutes in a plane sure as hell beats 8 hours (from Derry) in a car.

Don't see why you couldn't check them in as hold luggage - plenty of golfers do it with their gear...
