Boat and Jetski -Classified marine sales

#1 Post by Brian Edwards »

Hi Guys
I think this might be of interest to all of you. I am working on a marine sales classified website at present that will be concentrating on the UK and Irish market. The site will be simple to use and informative, geared towards the person wishing to sell their boat, outboard, jetski, electroincs, etc via the internet. The seller uploads all the items details and pictures via a simple web interface to the database, all adverts are checked by the administrator to try to eliminate scams before being sent live for a 2 week period. A nominal fee of £5.00 per item will be charged to the seller.

I will provide more site details later but in the meantime I would appreciate your feedback on this project.

Sales Site

Brian,
Good luck with your venture. Give us the address when you are up and running. There is some competition out there from the established sites but things could go well if the thing is administered well.

Cheers Jim
Will keep you updated over the next month, we are thinking towards 4-6 pictures per item if the seller wishes to gallery their item, the ads will rotate out after a two week period keeping the site fresh and upto date. If the article has not sold we will probably offer a 50% discount on a second consecutive two week rotation. I think the admin is the key to success.

Hi Brian,

I think that you should set a live date for your adds of about a month..... maybe a little longer to start with until your site gets up an running. You may also want to consider a few months totally free of charge to get your site name out there and lots of people using it.

Good luck and let us know the address as soon as your up and running.

Kevin

Guys I am about ready to go live with the above website http://www.boatsandjetskis.co.uk It is aimed solidly at the marine marketplace should you be selling or buying. During the initial launch period over the next 3 months all listing go FREE. If you have any boats, engines, jetskis, ringos, electronics, chandlery, wetsuits, etc for sale now is the time to take advantage, its free, all ads are administrated first before uploading in order to eliminate the scammers.

Hope you find it useful

Hi Fenitbob
Unfortunatly it is the seller that uploads all the pictures, we check that content is suitable, I sorta frowned on this picture and a few in the trailer section, you know the score customer is always right etc, Glad you like the site, hopefully the sections will fill up quickly, we have had a good initial response. Spread the word.

Hi mac
Dont understand why, just passing on info that may be of use to your members, no financial gain at my end the listing is a free placement and kept to our own tread within the forum.
