I would just like to know are any forum members fishing this festival ?

It is on the 29th / 30th October.Estimated Prizefund of €5,000. For further details check out the competition section of this website. It promises to be a very good 2 days fishing.

One of my favourite fishing spots where a fish is a bonus but the scenery wins hands down. Was down in September and managed a couple of bass. Unfortunately it's a bit far to travel for a competition for a couple of days. Best of luck to all those who participate and look forward to reading the results. Hopefully someone will take the time to post an in depth report including baits etc.
i get by with a little help from my friends.

I'd have to agree the scenery is out of this world. It's generally a quite enough place even durng the peak holiday season ,unlike many other Spots in Kerry which the angler has to bye pass during the summer.

As far as the frozen baits that are been supplied on day 1, the blacklug which Kevin will be suppling have proven excellent when tipped off with mackeral for the flounder on these beaches. The sandeel will be of use for the bass and dogs when it gets dark. The razorfish again for the bass and the few frozen peeler again for flounder and bass. People will be very suprised just how many fish wil be caught on the the frozen stuff on day 1.

Day 2 where people will be allowed to use their own bait will be a nice contrast, I expect most people to be using maddies, blow lug, black lug, wrigglers and sandeel / mackeral for dogs when it gets dark.

Its all shaping up fora great couple of days.
