Dead Blue hung from a lamp post

Just picked up the local paper the Donegal Post this moring and there on page 11 is a lovely picture of a 100lb blue shark hanging from a lamp post in an housing estate in Ballyshannon...the two assholes..sorry anglers.. that caught it are standing proudly alongside :evil: :roll:
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

In some ways this whole episode shows how far we've come. I have pictures at home of myself when I was a wee sprog standing on the pier in Kinsale and Courtmac with literally dozens of dead shark on the ground beside me. There hasn't been a shark landed in either of these places (I believe) in more than 10 years.
There will always be d**kheads but if there so marginalised as this it is safe to say that very significant progress is being made.

blaker your write and time changes, and things happen,
i used to walk down the street with my little mad jack russell, ferrets and all with 5 young rabbits hanging from my belt, sometimes 2 big rabbits over my shoulder, i dont think i would get away with that today
