Never used this stuff. Is it really as superior as you guys make out? I've been a Maxima man forever (probably a hangover from my river days) but have been getting very cheesed with their recent quality.

I used Daiwa Tournament until recently for pretty much everything but Im much preferring the Suffix. Its a lovely soft, limp line that sits really well on a multiplier reel without the horrible coiling effect you can get sometimes. I was using 15lb on my 525 the other night at Inch and it coped with hauling in wheelbarrow loads of kelp without breaking. Its a great line.

suffix is clear, the diawa is a bright yellow colour. fished with it last sunday and found it to be a very nice line to fish with. casts perfectly and doesnt tend to jump off the spool like cheaper mono's

Tony and Trevor in Cork angling and outdoor are getting all uppity of themselves because "dem dubs wouldnt know how to stock a tackle shop boyyyyyyy" and "arent we great cause we sell suffix boyyyyyy" etc etc. Ill have to show them the lovely rod I just bought on ebay at half the price they were selling it for, that'll quieten em!

I'll stand by the Suffix Synergy as werll, lovely stuff and something like 19.4lb BS for .35mm. Have been using this and an almost identical Suffix Specimn Carp or something (same BS and diameter) for the last couple of years and cannot fault it.

The only thing is I find that because I use a bimini twist and albright for the leader when I have to break out of a snag the line weakens dramatically to the point where I have to strip alot of mainline from the reel or sometimes replace the whole bluddy lot.

I picked up a spool of the synergy stuff you mentioned last week to try, didnt get round to using it yet though, interesting though that the whole line stretched to the point you had to replace it before breaking. Havent got my head round the bimini twist yet so ill not have that problem.
