Crap you eat whilst fishing

#1 Post by pete »

When i'm not fishing i have a relatively healthy diet but everytime i go fishing i end up stuffing the face with all manner of crap, i tend to be too lazy to make sambos the night before and just end up buying a heap a s*** out of the filling station - bars, biscuits, fizzy drinks, crips etc. The mate Jonny always used to buy a tray of cream (that nasty artificial cream) pastries on route and would end up eating the whole lot over the session and would then spend the next day on the shitter

When im fishing I dont notice how hungry I am until I stop. I prefer to hold the rod at all times and dont use tripods if im bait fishing so eating isnt an option.

If I had to I would bring a banana, easy to eat and a biodegradable wrapper...!The amount of rubbish I see left around by some "anglers" is unreal.

Your a hardy man Eoghan if you wont allow yourself a bite to eat during the day :o I couldnt stick 6 or 7 hours on the shore without eating something.

The hotcan stuff sounds good, have you tried them Teacher? Egg nuggets Peter are they not just 'Scotch Eggs', i like scotch eggs but they are real heart attack stuff :|

Egg nuggets, taken from description of canned all day breakfast, scotch certainly arent something I would put in my pocket for a day at sea! A buddy of mine, Keary, you met him at Teelin, never sets out on a boat without 2 or 3 hardboiled duck eggs in his pocket. Esconces himself beside the person feeling the roughest and proceeds to peel and eat. Rapid vomiting usually follows, its quite funny!

I think the reason is my fishing is done from 4am til about 10 or so and from 8 til late at night so its usually to early to eat or I will eat before I head out. Once im out there though im focused on one thing only..!

Nope. I'm like Eoghan, rarely eat when fishing.

I have nodded off on occasions though during late night sessions :?

just saw this :

that 'crap' food is one of the reasons I go fishing where else is it socially acceptable for a grown man to overdose on chocolate, fizzy drinks and crisps!

and that all important smoke at the end of the meal mmmmm :D

I figure i mightn't catch anything so i have to get something out of the day
