Plug advice

Im looking to get some cheap, large, heavy surface poppers for tuna/jacks, etc
or if anyone has any good ideas for some solid home made jobies,,,??

they are a fairly simple design mostly , you could probably make up a batch if you could get the right dia wood. add a blade at the rear and the cup shape at the front and away you go. you could add some internal rattles too and some skirts easily enough.

there is a type of surface popper that i think is called a bass buster that is quite cheap, you could add a coloured skirt or muppet to the back for added attraction, i have one and i got it for about five euro. its the same style as the strom popppers but half the price or less, fairly tough they migh hold out against jacks...they do against jack pike if thats any good :D

Drop SAMONWALKABOUT a PM , he was selling plugs and lures on ebay at ridiculously low prices, he might be able to sort you out. He was doing some mad offer for SAI members not that long ago.

Give Harris Angling a look as well. They normally have some lures on sale and you might come accross what you are looking for.
