sorry for the amount of questions, im only really starting out
most clubs are only happy to show you how to fish right(not saying there is a wrong way)...
the club i'm in we have new members joining all the time, some with absolutely no experience, we just pull them to the side during outings and show them the ropes of casting, rig tying, the importance of shockleader, baits and presentation.. i does take time , but to see their face when they get a BIG ONE is well worth it....
find out when they are taking mamberships for next year (save paying full membership for a few months)
get to know a few of the lads in the club and see if you can join them when they go fishing, and if they dont mind answering a few questions about the club and fishing..
you'll always find a few willing to answer as many questions as they can..

Hi Stephen,
I am a member of Glengormley and District Sea Angling Club (GADSAC), you would be more than welcome to come along to our next meeting and find out more.
I joined the club at the start of this year and have found it to be a great education in fishing. I would highly recommend getting involved in a club, you can learn about new marks, new techniques and most of all, enjoy the craic.
Our website address can be found below.
If you want to know anything else, just PM me.
Jude

Joining a club has numerous benefits. You can fish IFSA open competitions all over Ireland. The other benefit which I'm sure you do not have, and I stand to be corrected on this point, is insurance. All IFSA members are insured, so if they happen to hit some old dear walking her dog down the beach they are covered. If the old dears dog lifts a baited trace and needs to go to the vets for an op they're covered. This is just a few benefits, you can join a club or take a chance, the choice is down to the individual, but it is a small price to pay for piece of mind.
Your view on your own insurances would be greatly appreciated, where you can go and get comprehensive insurance at a very reasonable cost? as I'm sure a great deal of anglers who are not club members could benefit from knowing this fact. :?:

I can see the Upside to joining a Shore Angling Club, The Wealth of Concentrated Angling information, Companionship, and knowing that you've got a variety of locations to fish throughout the year.
From an outsiders point of view, Looking at the like of CBARSAC it seems to be a Large and Tightly knit community of People who Enjoy the Shore aspect of the Sport, and that can NEVER be a bad thing. I only wish I had such a Club locally, I'd be in like a shot.
My 2 Cents.
