What Now?

#1 Post by Sidd »

Hi All,

So, the Mackerel feck off, the Pollack move offshore, the dawn gets later, the days get colder - what happens in the late autumn/winter?

This is my first season fishing - I really enjoyed the summer, do we put the rods away until March or is it worth braving the elements and slippy rocks for the days ahead?

I know I will still be sneaking out around dawn every second or third Sunday but I have already bought a thermos flask, I do not yet know what these "hand warmers" are like but I am sure I will be wanting to find out before too long.

Thanks as always for the advice,

Sidd.

Buy a half decent headlamp and fish into the evenings ,dont know what the fishing is like at this time of year in your neck of the woods but up here it's conger time until christmas !
Tha pollack dont all move offshore ,we get some of our best fish early in the year from the shore ,you just need to find somewere with deep water and a half decent run of tide .
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
