Teacher, gave the Supercast Bass it's first outing off the rocks of SW Scotland last week. I loved the TDPK but this is a much smoother, classier rod.
First few chucks were with 4oz lead and a string of daylights to try to get some fresh mackerel. Allthough none connected to see how it coped I found it a much smoother casting action than the TDPK. Using an ABU 6500 sports mag it really flicked the lead out nice and smooth and I had to stop it a few times to avoid overshooting a string of pots.
It later came into action bumping jellyworms off the bottom on leadheads using a fixed spool and 12lb line. Although the Pollock never topped 2-2.5lb it coped lovely with their surging dives for the kelp and managed to bully a couple out that actually made it into the weed.
One of the ones it beat!

The planned bass session off Terrally Bay/Sandhead beaches on Monday afternoon was curtailed by the weather but hoping to give it another testing soon. Will let you know.
Definitely recommended.

Thanks for the report Peter. It looks like a really nice rod. It comes with a hefty price tag in Dublin tackle shops, but I might have to treat myself :D

No bother. Got mine from here but travelled down to pick it up on a day out with the kids. I don't know what their carriage would be but could be worth an enquiry.

I've had a disaster recently with mail order tackle. I wonder what these guys are like?

Went into Southside Angling today and looked at the Greys BZe 11'6" (1-3oz) and the older TD116 bass rod. Went for the Greys BZe in the end.
Will test it at the weekend but it looks like a lovely rod. What attracted me was the light weight and overall balance. Ideal for holding for long sessions.
