Weather for weekend of 23rd

#1 Post by Eoghan »

Does anyone have a good weather site for predicting long range forcasts. We are off to kerry for the weekend and from what I can see the weather will be crap. Typical..!

All I lpok for at 5 days are indications- I'd guess it'll be wet,but with a southerly wind it'll be quite mild.

The good thing about Dingle is that its a peninsula and you cand find shelter somewhere but there is a particular mark that I only fish down there as it rocks but it looks like not this weekend...

We'll probably have to fish one of the surf beaches, needle in a haystack stuff half the time..!!

There has been discussion on some forums about the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon tracking towards Ireland Thursday/Friday and the British Met office are now discussing it too!

Looks like a weekend of Bass in a glass so, or guinness to be precise.

Seriously, how much does that suck..!

Actually, reckon if thats the case we will postpone it until the week after. Tidea were ideal this weekend high at 6am etc over the weekend and the mark I have fishes best at dawn on a high tide but I'd rather a weekend of fishing than a weekend in the pub......em...that doesnt sound right but you know what I mean. :D

http://www.magicseaweed.com gives you surf and wind directions ,you even get current sea temp .
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

I surf allot mate so I was checking this site out today. Doesnt look too bad on this site. Other sites say different. Could just bring the board, could be a wicked wave on dumps..! :D

As JD says, I will wait until Tue's or early wednesday to make a decision.

What can I say..!

I just tie a mag popper to the back of my board and do both..!
(Often wondered if that would work)

Seriously though, on a fishing/surfing weekend away I fish early am and last two hours before dusk usually, the mid day is spent bobbing about on my baord. Then spend a few hours in the pub sinking a few guinness and talking about how the day went. Love it..! The way life should be.

bells hells in Donegal

#15 Post by kieran »

So....

Storm or no storm, Kieran has picked a bad weekend to try St John's Point, and of course now he finds out, after he's booked the accommodation! Bugger.

Three kids in a hotel room with wife. Hammering rain outside?
Pass the valium!

Serioously though, I did the NOAA forecast and they reckon mild, potentially damp but not awful, wind S veering slightly easterly, 10-15 knots, so nothing too unkind. Should be the same in Kerry?

Post a report Monday and we can compare flu like symptoms!
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Fingers crossed. Have been looking forward to this trip for ages. Although I got away with the lads. We have booked the accom but I know the lady really well as we always go back to the same house and im sure she wont mind if we move it a week out.

If we go i'll let you know how we get on. Pack the lemsips and ear plugs..!!
