Anyone got any info on bait pumps, Are they really only any good for rag? or could they be any use in Strangford lough for Lug? Also does anyone know exactly where you can and cannot dig worm in strangford Lough, I have been told that many things I do not know what to believe anymore. thanks

Hi,

Black lug are pretty much all you can pump with them. The common lugworm (where's there's a cast and a hole a short distance away) live in U shaped burrows whereas blacks live in a straight burrow (just a cast although there's probably a small hole right in the middle of the cast itself).

Anyways that's why the bait pump works it just lifts a straight column of sand and why it's effective for blakcs. It won't be of much use for rag or common lug unfortunately.
