Rag Lug Etc

#1 Post by Fidel »

Have recently returned to Shore Angling after having been lost to Coarse Fishing, Child Rearing and Substance Abuse I notice a decline in the quality of shop bought rag (saw this on forum recently) and in the availability of lug and fresh peelers.
I know the ideal is to dig/collect your own but time is an issue.
Any advice on obtaining good quality fresh stuff without the spadework???
Also views and tips on using frozen peeler, razorfish etc would be appreciated

Thanks Cortaz

I could give you a 5 hour monologue about how things are in Cuba but suffice to say that in spite of the Yankee Imperialist Embargo the revolution is still working for the benefit of the Cuban People.

the coarse gear would do for mullet, bread for bait :o l
put hooks/snool in any bait, especially crab, u r freezein saves time on beach,
why did u give up the coarse fishin?

Hi Cortaz,
Sea fishing was always my primary interest. South Wicklow beaches and Wexford for the boat fishing. Started to coarse fish cos it was easier and safer when bringing the son. He started fishing when he was 3. Did a lot of coarse fishing up in Leitrim and the canals in Enfield and Prosperous.
He lost interest ..music girls etc. I am enjoying the shore fishing again..bit of beach casting and bass plugging (unsuccessful).
Ill do some piking during winter so havent given the coarse up completely.
Got some nice mullet in the Liffey at Croppys acre years back, fishing over the wall using light gear and a drop net ...great scrappers, funny seeing motorists and buses slowing to see the fight!!
