Report: got off to a bad start - was meant to be down friday for late evening tide - then it was first thing saturday morning - but hangovers - then keys to mobile couldnt be found - bad day saturday all round
got down about 5.30 and necked two beers (after day we had) - got to the rocks at the castle and it was very blustery and the rocks were slippy as hell and my concentration was gone
only managed 2 hours, blanked with the ireland match beckoning - then of course more beers - no more fishing
up at 10 down for 11 - could see what i was doing, wind had eased - rag was being eaten but no connection - nothing following lures - was very bright
could see the birds feeding like hell but too far away - thought might get some mack straglers - but no joy
got the first flattie on the rag at the start of the second session - thinking this was the begining then nothing for an hour - got the rockling - a very dark brown with one barbel for all i could tell on a mack strip
seals could be seen at all times about 100yds out - as were a couple of trawlers right by the sand bar - a few rigs were lost as you do on the messy patches
got a few bigger bites on the rag tipped with squid but nothing hooked - after 3 hours on the rocks moved to the posts
second cast second flattie - weed was very bad here - was spinning away as well no follows
enjoyable 24hrs in the end - and got the sunshine
:D :D

had a look at the link below and im fairly sure it was a five beard rockling now - the colouration was such a dark brown but the head to body ratio seems correct
