OTG rod
can anyone recommend a good otg rod i know they are supposed to be longer than the norm for a more progressive compression but is there any rod out there specifically built for the job?

Are you looking at this just for distance casting or for fishing? If it's for fishing, then most rods over 13 foot can be used with a good style. If it's for distance, then the Zzippy above is specifically designed for OTG, but I think you would be better looking for a good all rounder so you can vary your style. The Zipplex Primo Synchro is good, but I guess most of the casting rods would be too, just depends on your style and strength.
If you do get to grips with OTG casting, the other casting styles will be easy.

You will get some good distances with OTG (200m+), though for fishing, you will most likely end up casting on grounds where OTG is not possible - rocks, thick grass, etc.
The OTG is seen as the key step to the aerialized casts such as pendulum as you should end up in a similar position before you follow through on the cast.
