,not another carp programme,I don't mind watching a bit of coarse fishing but when it comes to carp I just turn off, maybe I'm wrong but I just don't find it that skilfull, just stick on a boilie, put the electronic bite indicator on and sit back in your chair.
I'd like to see a programme where they advise you on tackle and rigs and show you new tips and tricks with maybe a ten minute section at the end of the show where they put it into use.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!
Carp and Carp anglers bore the hell outa me, there seems to be an obsession with them as they dominate magazines and television programmes, not for me!!
Carp are a fantastic fish to catch especially free-lining with light tackle but I have to agree that as soon as I see a carp program on Discovery I switch over even if its John Wilson!
He was making a program in Clare last week. Species hunting from Kilkee, inc. Mack bashing at Castlerock, Mullet in Carrigholt, Tope in the estuary, flatties from Doonaha will be shown in Jan...... When I think back to the job information leaflets my career guidance man had for us in school?? Not one on having your own sea angling show.......useless fecker!!!
2009 - France, Italy, England, Scotland and Wales.....
Edinburgh, Wasps, Castres, Harlequins, Munster and Leicester.......
Now to add some fish:Cukoo,Ballan,Pollock,Coalie,Pouting,Conger, poor cod....mm needs more fish.. Mackerel, Dogie, Mullet Flounder...poor year so far....
Is it just me or does anybody else find Henry Gilby one the most annoying individuals on the planet!, whatever fish you caught hes caught bigger (but you just missed it!!).I have to be honest, his incesant rabit shows either a lack of knowledge/experience or a serious lack of self belief!! or may be its just me

The Greater Rod Race? Is this a second series or a repeat of the 'great rod race' ?
Nope. It's supposed to be a whole new series with new challenges and penalties for failing
Look forward to this. Any idea when it will be aired? I wish Matt was a Sea angler as i really love his shows.
More details: "Matt and Mick have just completed
filming their latest series which is called THE GREATER ROD RACE.
Its all about a fishing mission from the West coast of Ireland to the East
coast of England! For every mile they travel they have to catch a pound
of fish! This should be shown on Real Time before Christmas 2006."
