Blackrock, Salthill 22nd aug

People: me, nige, two others

Duration:7pm - 1:15am

Tide:falling.. low at 12:10am

Weather:light drizzle at times with light wind

Bait:mackerel

Rigs:various, mostly single hook bomber's

Results:5 huss and a strapconger


Report: me: 51cm and 85cm huss and a strap conger, nige 60cm and 92cm huss(and a 5oz in the leg!!!) others caught a 68cm huss...

we went for huss and we caught huss

and it hurts :(

But am still happy as I got my biggest huss ever from the shore and now I want to beat steves biggest :)

it will never happen... my biggest was a 26lbs huss which was returned not knowing it was a record fish back in '97 ... mouth that would easily chew a basketball :shock: :shock:

Nice bit of fishing there lads. Steve i'm down in Galway next week with work and I aint got a huss this year, fact never caught a huss. Might you be prepared to offer your services and bag us one of those big doggies?
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

In fairness to Pete, he was brave enough to get into a boat with me at the weekend so handling the Crow will hold no problems for him... :D You didnt see a report as the list of problems would have me typing till the middle of next week..... :shock:
