#1 Post by Davy Murdoch »

People:myself and marty

Duration:3.5hrs

Tide:2.5hrs filling,1hr dropping

Weather:sunny

Bait:bread

Rigs:floats,flies

Results:one mullet

Report:i think im definately addicted to mullet fishing cos any chance i get i want to go after them  headed down again last night and was joined by marty.marty had loads of interest on the fly rod while i only had 3 hits on floating bread.maybe it was too bright and the mullet weren`t feeding.we stayed to try the dropping tide and had a bit more interest in the bread and i ended up catching a cracking mullet of 4.15lb :D that was the only fish of the night and the water was to fast to fish properly.enjoyable night and i learn more every trip.

Thats a nice mullet...green with envy  Going to have to go to Killybegs next week! Davey were you mashing up bread and putting it into ground bait bag or just fishing bits without any groundbait?

hi johnson1 strangford lough is full of mullet, anywhere there is a river or canal coming into the lough you`ll find mullet.places like ards, comber, downpatrick and dozens of other places around the lough.i just use a light float,6lb main line, size 10 hook and bread for bait.good luck if you try it
